Welcome to Westminster Presbyterian Day School
A cooperative play-based learning preschool in Tarrytown
Our approach
Westminster Presbyterian Day School (WPDS) is a licensed cooperative preschool in Tarrytown for children ages 15 months through five years, enrolling approximately 85 children. WPDS is proud to be a 4-star Texas Rising Star School. As a cooperative preschool, parents take turns assisting the teacher in the classroom. This unique approach builds community, allows parents to see what their child’s day is like, and provides parents the opportunity to learn from the guidance of our teachers.
Growth Through Play
Westminster Presbyterian Day School provides a nurturing environment that supports the close relationship between the child, family, and staff. WPDS appreciates childhood as a unique and valuable stage of life. Under the guidance of staff knowledgeable in child development, children grow emotionally, socially, spiritually, physically, and intellectually through play-based learning. WPDS has four distinct outdoor play areas, and each class spends approximately two hours of cumulative time outside (weather permitting).
Our Location

“We love that Westminster feels like home to our kids. They are safe, known, and loved by the teachers and other staff on campus. Our children love the encouragement to explore and play outside without being told how to play with everything. This gives them the freedom to learn, solve their problems, and fosters their curiosity. The cooperative preschool and parent-helping days are another favorite part of WPDS. During my time in the classroom, I see independence, teamwork, and imagination in each part of the day. The teachers at this school are truly invested in the children and make WPDS an extraordinary place.”
